Sleep Bedford Bed & Spa provides short-term sleeping accommodations & spa services to those visiting Historic Bedford, PA. Our goal is to offer first class Rest & Relaxation to our guests at an affordable price. Whether you are looking for a one-night stay for a single room or a group wanting a week-long get together, we offer an experience you will never forget.
We currently have 2 locations (The Ridenour & The Studio) in the heart of downtown Bedford with a 3rd location (The Pines) scheduled to open in Spring 2027. In our first two-years of business, we were named Bedford Gazette’s “Best of the Best” Bed & Breakfast for 2025 & 2026.
The Historic Ridenour Building

“It all began here” Back when William Penn owned a large portion of Pennsylvania, he sent an engineer to design a town in what is known today as Bedford. The lot that The Ridenour sits on was designated as Lot 1 with the rest of the town being built around this spot.
In the early days the site had a building that was know as the Commandant’s headquarters which late became the House of the Rising Sun…a local pub. In the 1860s a portion of the block burned down resulting in the Ridenour Building being built in the 1870s.
Over the years, the building housed a meat market which still has remnants of cages in the basement which contained livestock which provided fresh meat. In years after, there was a bank and a jewelry store in the building. A trap door to a basement vault in Juli’s Wearable Arts still exists although the basement access has since been blocked. Over the years there have been a number of businesses in the three floors of the building including the Pennsylvania Railroad Telegraph Operators School.

Sleep Bedford Bed & Spa is built around the idea that where you stay can be a memorable part of your visit. Instead of making every accommodation feel the same, I offer spaces with their own character.
My current themed Suite Rooms celebrate the Steelers and golf, with another theme currently in development. The goal is to give guests an alternative to an ordinary room while keeping the experience comfortable, approachable, and easy to book.

My Themed Suite Rooms offer accommodations with a distinctive personality. Guests can currently choose between Steelers and golf themes, with another themed room coming soon.
Pets are not permitted in the Suite Rooms.

For guests traveling with a pet, my Pet-Friendly Studio Apartment provides a designated pet-friendly lodging option in Bedford.
